CCSTechnical Information(2021)Technical Information No.34 Total No.540Jul.28,2021(Total 1 page Annex)To:Relevant shipowners,ship management companies,shipyards and designers,productmanufacturer,related departments of the Headquarters of CCS,the Society's surveyors,Plan Approval CentersNotice on the Amendments of IGF Code (MSC.475(102))Issued by IMOThe Maritime Safety Committee,at its 102st session (4 to 11 November 2020),adopted,byresolution MSC.475(102),the amendment to the International Code of Safety for ShipsUsing Gases or Other Low-Flashpoint Fuels(IGF Code)(MSC.391(95)).The amendment isexpected to enter into force on I January 2024.The main contents of the amendment are asfollows:1.Replacing paragraph 6.7.1.1 to delete the requirement that interbarrier spaces shall also beprovided with a suitable pressure relief system;2.Adding paragraph 11.8 to supplement regulations for fuel preparation roomfire-extinguishing systems;3.Replacing paragraph 16.3.3.5.1 to replace "For aluminium alloys"in original text by "Formaterials such as aluminium alloys".This technical information is published on the CCS website (www.ccs.org.cn)and will betransmitted to relevant units by the CCS branches implementing the inspection and planapproval centers within their responsible areas.For any enquiry please contact theTechnology Information Department of the CCS Headquarters by e-mailing to:ti@ccs.org.cn.Annex:Resolution MSC.475(102)amendments to the international code of safety for shipsusing gases or other low-flashpoint fuels(IGF code)
