CCS通函CircularChina Classification Society2011 Circ.No.26 Total No.90April 29,2011 (Total 2 PagesTO:Related departments of CCS Headquarters;Branches and Offices;Ship CompaniesNotice of Implementation of RESOLUTION MSC.304(87)---The Collaborative Issues of Implementation of IMO BLU Code and IMO IMSBC Code duringthe operation of loading and unloading of Bulk CargoBackground:For the operational management of loading and unloading of bulk cargo,IMO has issued"The code of practice for the safe loading and unloading of bulk carriers"(the BLU Code,seeResolution IMO A.862(20)and Resolution MSC.238(82),as amended).In addition,withregard to the liquefied danger(fluidization),ignition hazard and other safety managementmeasures of solid bulk cargoes,IMO issued "International Maritime Solid Bulk CargoesCode"(referred to as IMSBC Code)as a mandatory document,which took effect on January1,2011,the CCS has issued the circular "Notice on Mandatory Implementation ofAmendments to SOLAS Chapter VI and VIl and the International Maritime Solid BulkCargoes(IMSBC)Code"<(2010)Circ.No.37 Total No.37>.Summary:As the BLU Code and the IMSBC Code are closely related,IMO recently requires itsmember states to pay attention to the following aspects which are associated with theIMSBC Code,when implementing the BLU Code:1.Bulk Cargo Shipping Name (BCSN)should be in conformity with the name listed in theIMSBC Code.2.Please note the latest changes of the IMSBC Code when implement its requirements ofthe procedures of cargo loading and handling of ballast,completing ship/shore safety
