TM-642 Service Manual PDFSome notes on this PDF are required as it's not possible to represent the printedmanual 100%.The text only pages (up to page 30)are scanned gray scale at 300 dpi.I didnot retouch them in Photoshop.31-34,35-38,39-42 and 43-46 are 11x31 inches in the original document.I've split these into 11x17 inch pages.The remaining pages are 11x15.5 in the original and are 11x17 in thisdocumentThe image pages were scanned at 1200 dpi and straightened in Photoshop byhand then assembled into the pages.These were exported at 400 dpi intoAcrobat.I've printed all the 11x17 images out on my 11x17 printer and checked themagainst the original manual.Only the block diagram has visible distortionwhere the images do not line up.This is minor IHMO.The original Photoshop files are available online and even the original tiffsscans can be downloaded at:http://keekles.org/~kb9mci/tm742-service-manual/raw/tm742raw.tar.bz2(I'm aware it says 742,but it indeed the 642.It's 8.1gb and I did not feel likere-uploading it.)The entire document was OCR'd in Acrobat,it's not 100%but searchingworks most of the time.The only manual I can find is the 742 manual and it's a bad scan.The boarddiagrams are unreadable in it.I'd love to get my hands on a 742 manual,but asthese are out of print I've been unable to locate one.If you have one that I couldborrow or buy please contact me.I do ask that you do not host this file on a site that requires registration ormembership to download it (looking at you mods.dk),or sell it on eBay or anywhereelse.I've done this as a service to the amateur radio community,and all should beable to benefit from the free exchange of information.I've put over 10 hours intodoing this right,and ask that you respect my wishes.Thank you,Bryan Fields,KB9MCIbryan@bryanfields.net
