CCSTechnical Information(2022)Technical Information No.26 Total No.598Dec.01,2022(Total 16 pages)To:Relevant shipowners,ship management companies,shipyards and designers,productmanufacturer,related departments of the Headquarters of CCS,the Society's surveyors,Plan Approval CentersTechnical Notice on Resolutions-Circulars Adopted-Approved byIMO MSC 105The Maritime Safety Committee of the International Maritime Organization,at its105th session,adopted amendments related to modernization of Global MaritimeDistress and Safety System(GMDSS),thus completing the task of modernization ofGMDSS.The amendments include Amendments to the International Convention forthe Safety of Life at Sea,1974,Amendments to the Protocol of 1988 relating to theInternational Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea,1974,Amendments to theInternational Code of Safety for High-Speed Craft,Amendments to the Code ofSafety for Special Purpose Ships,Amendments to the Code for the Construction andEquipment of Mobile Offshore Drilling Units and amendments to performancestandards for GMDSS related equipment,with a total number of 19 MSCresolutions/circulars.The following 4 resolutions,i.e.Amendments to theInternational Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes(IMSBC)Code (resolution MSC.500(105)),Amendments to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG)Code(resolution MSC.501(105)),Model Regulations on Domestic FerrySafety(resolution MSC.518(105))and Revised performance standards for water leveldetectors on ships subject to SOLAS regulations ll-1/25,Il-1/25-1 and Xll/12(resolution MSC.188(79)/Rev.1)were also adopted by MSC 105.
