2010MOINTERNATIONALEMARITIMESEAFARERORGANIZATIONRef.T5/1.01MEPC.1/Circ.7368 November 2010GUIDANCE FOR THE RECORDING OF OPERATIONS IN THE OIL RECORD BOOKPARTI-MACHINERY SPACE OPERATIONS(ALL SHIPS)1The Marine Environment Protection Committee,at its sixty-first session,(27 September to 1 October 2010),approved the Guidance for recording of operations in theOil Record Book Part I -Machinery space operations (all ships)(paragraph 7.38 ofdocument MEPC 61/24),attached in the annex.2The Guidance is intended to facilitate compliance with MARPOL requirementson board ships by providing advice to crews on how to record the various operations in theOil Record Book by using the comrect codes and item numbers in order to ensure a moreuniform port State control procedure.3Governments Parties to MARPOL are invited to encourage implementation of theabove Guidance for use aboard ships flying their flags and to disseminate it among allstakeholders including ship operators,surveyors and port State control officers.I:CIRCMEPC11736.doc
