MSC106/19/Add.1Annex 18,page 1ANNEX 18RESOLUTION MSC.263(84)/REV.1(adopted on 7 November 2022)PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THELONG-RANGE IDENTIFICATION AND TRACKING OF SHIPSTHE MARITIME SAFETY COMMITTEE.RECALLING Article 28(b)of the Convention on the International Maritime Organizationconcerning the functions of the Committee,RECALLING ALSO resolution A886(21)on Procedure for the adoption of,and amendmentsto,performance standards and technical specifications,by which the Assembly resolved thatthe function of adopting performance standards and technical specifications,as well asamendments thereto,shall be perfomed by the Maritime Safety Committee,BEARING IN MIND the provisions of regulation V/19-1 of the International Convention for theSafety of Life at Sea,1974 (the Convention),relating to the long-range identification andtracking of ships,and the Revised performance standards and functional requirements for thelong-range identification and tracking of ships(Revised Performance Standards),adopted byresolution MSC.263(84),as amended by resolutions MSC.330(90)and MSC.400(95),HAVING CONSIDERED,at its 106th session,the recommendation made by theSub-Committee on Navigation,Communications and Search and Rescue at its ninth session,1ADOPTS the revised Performance standards and functional requirements for thelong-range identification and tracking of ships,set out in the annex to the present resolution;2REVOKES resolutions MSC.263(84),MSC.330(90)and MSC.400(95);3AGREES that any reference to resolution MSC.263(84),as amended,should be readas reference to the present resolution;INVITES Contracting Governments to the Convention to bring the enclosedrevised performance standards to the attention of all parties concerned.I:MSC106MSC 106/19/Add.1.docx
