MSC107/20/Add.1Annex 12,page 1ANNEX 12RESOLUTION MSC.542(107)(adopted on 8 June 2023)AMENDMENTS TO THE CODE OF SAFETY FOR SPECIAL PURPOSE SHIPS,1983(1983 SPS CODE)THE MARITIME SAFETY COMMITTEERECALLING Article 28(b)of the Convention on the International Maritime Organizationconcerning the functions of the Committee.RECALLING ALSO resolution A.534(13),by which the Assembly,at its thirteenth session,adopted the Code of Safety for Special Purpose Ships,1983(1983 SPS Code),RECALLING FURTHER that the Assembly authorized the Committee to amend the SPS Codeas may be necessary,NOTING the amendments to the Intemational Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea,1974("the Convention")adopted by resolution MSC.532(107),HAVING CONSIDERED,at its 107th session,consequential amendments to Record ofEquipment for the Special Purpose Ship Safety Certificate (Form SPS),1ADOPTS amendments to the SPS Code,the text of which is set out in the annex tothe present resolution;2DETERMINES that the said consequential amendments to the 1983 SPS Codeshould become effective on 1 January 2026,in conjunction with the entry into force ofamendments to the appendix(Certificates)of the 1974 SOLAS Convention,and the 1994and 2000 HSC Codes,adopted by resolutions MSC.532(107),MSC.536(107)andMSC.537(107),respectively.I:MSC107MSC 107/20/Add.1.docx
