INTERNATIONALEMARITIMEORGANIZATION4 ALBERT EMBANKMENTLONDON SE1 7SRTelephone:+44(0)2077357611Fax:+44(0)2075873210MSC.1/Circ.166426June2023REVISED FORM FOR CARGO INFORMATION FOR SOLID BULK CARGOES1The Maritime Safety Committee,at its 107th session(31 May to 9 June 2023),inreviewing the outcome of the eighth session of the Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoesand Containers(CCC 8),recognized the urgent need to resolve a discrepancy between theInternational Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC)Code and regulation XIl/10 of theInternational Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea(SOLAS),1974,concerning the omissionof bulk density infomation in the fom for cargo information for solid bulk cargoes,andapproved the revised form for cargo information for solid bulk cargoes,pending formal entryinto force of the amendments to the IMSBC Code,as given in the annex to this circular.2Member Governments are invited to bring the revised form to the attention of allconcerned,taking into account the voluntary application date of 1 January 2024 foramendment 07-23 of the IMSBC Code,pending its envisaged entry into forceon 1 January 2025,and in particular to:.1encourage shippers to use cargo information in accordance with the revisedfom:and.2request port State control officers to note the situation,and use discretionwhen the ship does not have the required cargo density information until theamendments to the IMSBC Code enter into force.城大I:CIRCMSC1MSC.1-Circ.1664.docxMARPOL AT 50OUR COMMITMENT GOES ON
