CCSTechnical Information(2021)Technical Information No.36 Total No.542Jul.28,2021(Total 2 pages+Annex)To:Relevant shipowners,ship management companies,shipyards and designers,productmanufacturer,related departments of the Headquarters of CCS,the Society's surveyors,Plan Approval CentersNotice on MSC.476(102)-Amendments to the International Code forthe Construction and Equipment of Ships CarryingLiquefied Gases in Bulk(IGC Code)1.PrefaceThe Maritime Safety Committee,at its 102nd session (Nov 2020)adopted theresolution of MSC.476(102)"AMENDMENTS TO THE INTERNATIONAL CODE FOR THECONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT OF SHIPS CARRYING LIQUEFIED GASES IN BULK(IGC CODE)".The amendments shall enter into force on 1 January 2024.Il.Amendment Content of MSC.476(102)Paragraph 6.5.3.5.1 is replaced by the following:".1 tensile tests:cross-weld tensile strength shall not be less than the specifiedminimum tensile strength for the appropriate parent materials.For materials such asaluminium alloys,reference shall be made to 4.18.1.3 with regard to therequirements for weld metal strength of under-matched welds (where the weldmetal has a lower tensile strength than the parent metal).In every case,the positionof fracture shall be recorded for information."MSC.476(102)is provided in the annex.This technical notice is made public on CCS
