CCSTechnical Information(2023)Technical Information No.17 Total No.6170ct10,2023(Total 4 pages)To:ship owners,shipping management companies,CCS all branches surveyorsTechnical Notice on Resolution MSC.525 (106)"Amendments tothe International Code on the Enhanced Programme ofInspections During Surveys of Bulk Carriers and Oil Tanks2011”issued by IMO1.BackgroundThe Maritime Safety Committee of International Maritime Organization (IMO)adoptedAmendments to International Code on the Enhanced Programme of Inspections during Surveys ofBulk Carriers and Oil Tankers,2011 ("the 2011 ESP Code"),by Resolution MSC.525(106)at its106th session,which will take effect on 1st July 20242.Main revisions2.1 Add the survey requirements for the double-side skin void spaces bounding cargo holds forbulk carriers exceeding 20 years of age and of 150m in length and upwards.2.1.1 Intermediate survey and Renewal survey for the above carriers,where provided,thecondition of the corrosion prevention system of void spaces shall be examined.Where a hardprotective coating is found to be in POOR condition,and it is not renewed,or where a soft orsemi-hard coating has been applied,or where a hard protective coating has not been applied fromthe time of construction,the void spaces in question shall be examined at annual intervals.Thickness measurements shall be carried out as deemed necessary by the surveyor.2.1.2 Annual survey for the above carriers,where provided,shall be carried out when required as a
