CCSTechnical Information(2020)Technical Information No.57 Total No.491Sep.01,2020(Total 2 pages)To:Relevant shipowners,ship management companies,shipyards and designers,productmanufacturer,related departments of the Headquarters of CCS,the Society's surveyors,Plan Approval CentersTechnical Notice on Guidelines for Vessels and Units with DynamicPositioning(Dp)Systems (MSC.1/Circ.1580)issued by IMOThe Maritime Safety Committee of International Maritime Organization (IMO),at itsninety-eighth session on 16 June 2017,approved the Guidelines for vessels and unitswith dynamic positioning(DP)systems(MSC.1/Circ.1580)MSC.1/Circ.1580 recommends that the above mentioned Guideline should be appliedto vessels and units constructed on or after 9 June 2017.For vessels and unitsconstructed on or after 1 July 1994 but before 9 June 2017,the previous version of theGuidelines (MSC/Circ.645)may continue to be applied,however it is recommendedthat section 4 of the above mentioned Guideline be applied to all new and existingvessels and units,as appropriate.MSC.1/Circ.1580 is provided in the annex of this technical notice.This technical notice is made public on CCS website (www.ccs.org.cn),and is to bedistributed to relevant ship owners,shipyards,design units and shippingmanagement companies by CCS branches within their responsible areas.Pleasecontact Technology Information Department of CCS (ti@ccs.org.cn)for any inquiryin the implementation.
