CCSTechnical Information(2018)Technical Information No.2 Total No.328Jan.03,2018(Total 6 pages)To relevant departments of CCS Headquarters,CCS surveyors,plan approval centers,relevant ship owners,shipyards,designers and shipping management companiesTechnical Notice on MSC.1/Circ.1570 Issued by IMO1.BackgroundThe Maritime Safety Committee of International Maritime Organization (IMO)approved MSC.1/CIRC.1570,i.e.,Amendments to the Guidelines for Damage ControlPlans and Information to the Master (MSC.1/CIRC.1245),which invited MemberStates to use MSC.1/Circ.1245 in conjunction with this amendments when applyingthe requirements of SOLAS regulation ll-1/19 to passenger ships built on or after 9June 2017 and to passenger ships which undergo significant alterations on or after 9June 2017,that necessitate amending the damage control information,and to bringthese amendments to the attention of all parties concerned.2.Main revisionsIn this Circular,MSC.1/Circ.1245 is revised by adding new paragraphs 3.3 and 3.4.Therequirements of display information of passenger ship damage control plans aresupplemented.For common fittings or equipment in both fire and damage controlplans of passenger ships,the graphic symbols in damage control plans should be inaccordance with the "Graphical symbols for shipboard fire control plans (resolutionA.952(23)”.
