CCSTechnical Information(2020)Technical Information No.42 Total No.476Jun.19,2020(Total 6 pages Attachment)To:Shipowners,Shipping companies,Thickness measurement companies approved by CCS,AllCCS branch offices,CCS surveyorsTechnical notice on the implementation of the ResolutionMSC.461(101)---Amendments to the International Code on theEnhanced Programme of Inspections during Surveys of Bulk Carriersand Oil Tankers,2011(2011 ESP Code)The Marine Safety Committee (MSC)of International Maritime Organization (IMO),at its hundred and first session (MSC 101)on June 05-14,2019 adopt theAmendments to the International Code on the Enhanced Programme of Inspectionsduring Surveys of Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers,2011 (2011 ESP Code)byMSC.461(101).This amendments includes new requirements of IACS UR Z10s series,textual amend and supplement to the International Code on the EnhancedProgramme of Inspections during Surveys of Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers,2011(2011 ESP Code)adopted by the Resolution A.1049(27),consistent with therequirements of IACS UR Z10s series.Resolution MSC.461(101)will come into forceon 1 Jan,2021.The 2011 ESP Code has been developed to provide a survey standard for the surveyof the cargo holds,cargo tanks,pump-rooms,cofferdams,pipe tunnels,void spaces,fuel oi tanks and hull structure and piping systems in way of all ballast tanks(including fore and aft peaks),Parts A and B of annex A of the Code provide therequirements for bulk carriers with single-side skin and double-side skin constructionrespectively.Parts A and B of annex B of the Code provide the requirements for oiltankers with double-hull and non-double-hull construction respectively.The
