PRECAUTIONSPRECAUTION[CVT:REOF11A]PRECAUTIONPRECAUTIONSPrecaution for Supplemental Restraint System(SRS)"AIR BAG"and "SEAT BELT⊙PRE-TENSIONERWF0D:000000007654513The Supplemental Restraint System such as "AIR BAG"and "SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER",used alongwith a front seat belt,helps to reduce the risk or severity of injury to the driver and front passenger for certaintypes of collision.Information necessary to service the system safely is included in the "SRS AlR BAG"andSEAT BELT"of this Service Manual.TMThe vehicle may be equipped with a passenger air bag deactivation switch.Because no rear seat exists wherea rear-facing child restraint can be placed,the switch is designed to turn off the passenger air bag so that arear-facing child restraint can be used in the front passenger seat.The switch is located in the center of theEinstrument panel,near the ashtray.When the switch is turned to the ON position,the passenger air bag isenabled and could inflate for certain types of collision.When the switch is turned to the OFF position,the pas-senger air bag is disabled and will not inflate.A passenger air bag OFF indicator on the instrument panel lightsup when the passenger air bag is switched OFF.The driver air bag always remains enabled and is not affectedby the passenger air bag deactivation switch.WARNING:GAlways observe the following items for preventing accidental activation.To avoid rendering the SRS inoperative,which could increase the risk of personal injury or death inthe event of a collision that would result in air bag inflation,all maintenance must be performed byHan authorized NISSAN/INFINITI dealer.Improper maintenance,including incorrect removal and installation of the SRS,can lead to personalinjury caused by unintentional activation of the system.For removal of Spiral Cable and Air BagModule,see the "SRS AIR BAG".Do not use electrical test equipment on any circuit related to the SRS unless instructed to in thisService Manual.SRS wiring hamesses can be identified by yellow and/or orange harnesses or har-ness connectors.The vehicle may be equipped with a passenger air bag deactivation switch which can be operated bythe customer.When the passenger air bag is switched OFF,the passenger air bag is disabled andwill not inflate.When the passenger air bag is switched ON,the passenger air bag is enabled andcould inflate for certain ty pes of collision.After SRS maintenance or repair,make sure the passengerair bag deactivation switch is in the same position(ON or OFF)as when the vehicle arrived for ser-vice.PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING POWER TOOLS(AIR OR ELECTRIC)AND HAMMERSWARNING:Always observe the following items for preventing accidental activation.When working near the Air Bag Diagnosis Sensor Unit or other Air Bag System sensors with theignition ON or engine running,DO NOT use air or electric power tools or strike near the sensor(s)with a hammer.Heavy vibration could activate the sensor(s)and deploy the air bag(s),possiblycausing serious injury.When
