☑SensorexPRODUCT INSTRUCTION SHEETSubmersible Cap and Cable Assembly -S653/S653WProduct Instructions1G.1Mechanical InstallationCONDUIT CONNECTION.Submersible Combination Electrodesare mounted in the Threaded Cable Cap Assembly(see below1/2"NPT Couplerfor information about using the assembly with conduit).Thisand PVC Pipecap assembly has a 1/2"NPT thread to which a coupling orreducing bushing and the needed length of supporting pipecan be attached.The pipe provides mechanical support forthe electrode and protects the cable from contact with theliquid being measured.The coupling and pipe can be madeUse Pipe Threadof any material which is compatible with the chemicals andSealing Tapetemperature in the system being measured.The upper end ofto seal threadsthe pipe should be sealed to prevent the entry of liquids.Referto Figure 1 for installation details.ELECTRODE INSTALLATION.The electrode mounts in thecable cap by a 1/4 tum which locks together the mating BNC-type connectors.Refer to Figure 2.It is important that theelectrode be locked in position and the following stepwiseprocedure is suggested:A.While pushing the electrode into the cap,rotate itS653clockwise until it slips into the notch of the mating connector.This step requires no real amount of force and,when complet-ed,the cap will cover most of the electrode's top O-ring.B.Now,without further rotation,push the electrodeinto the cap until the bottom O-ring is mostly covered and theF1G.2MAKE SUREblack washer almost touches the cable cap.ELECTRODEC.Finally,again rotate the electrode clockwise until itIS ORIENTED"clicks"into the locking position(about Vturn).Now the bot-AS SHOWNtom O-ring will be fully covered and the bottom of the cap willBELOWWHENrest firmly against the electrode's black washer.INSTALLING ORREMOVING SOELECTRODE REMOVAL.Simply reverse installtion procedure.THAT LIQUIDGREASE ALLCANNOT FLOWIMPORTANT NOTES:1)As supplied the electrode's O-ringsO-RINGS PRIORBACK INTO THETO INSTALLATIONhave a light coating of silicone grease.After several insertionsINTERNAL CON-and removals,it may be necessary to re-lubricate the O-rings.NECTOR!A stopcock or vacuum-type silicone grease should be used.2)DO NOT IMMERSE CAP AND CABLE ASSEMBLY INTO SOLU-Push upafterTIONWITHOUT ELECTRODE ATTACHED!!!aligningtabsGREASE ALLSILIKCONE O-RINGGREASEO-RINGS PRIORTO INSTALLATION1/4 TURNParts covered by this product data sheet include:S653,S653WPage 1 of 1Forme InstallS653 [Rev:2012-05-16]2011 Sensorex Corporstion
