INTERNATIONALEMARITIMEORGANIZATION4 ALBERT EMBANKMENTLONDON SE1 7SRTelephone:+44(0)2077357611Fax:+44(0)2075873210MSC.1/Circ.168627 January 2025AMENDMENTS TO THE INTERNATIONAL AERONAUTICALAND MARITIME SEARCH AND RESCUE (IAMSAR)MANUAL1The Maritime Safety Committee,at its 109th session(2 to 6 December 2024),havingbeen informed that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)had approved theamendments'to the Intemational Aeronautical and Maritime Search and Rescue (IAMSAR)Manual prepared by the ICAO/IMO Joint Working Group on Harmonization of Aeronautical andMaritime Search and Rescue,and that they had been agreed by the Sub-Committee onNavigation,Communications and Search and Rescue(NCSR)at its eleventh session(4 to 13June 2024),approved the amendments to Volumes I,ll and lll of the Manual,as set out inannexes 1,2 and 3,respectively,in accordance with the procedures for amending andupdating the IAMSAR Manual set out in resolution A.894(21).The Committee agreed that the amendments should become applicableon 1 January 2026.3Member States are invited to bring the amendments to the attention of all partiesconcerned.The text of the amendment is arranged to show deleted text with a line through it and new text highlightedwith grey shading,as shown below:Text to be deleted is shown with a line through it.⊙New text to be inserted is highlighted with grey shading.c)Text te be deleted is shewn with a line threugh it followed by the replacement text which ishighlighted with grey shading.I:CIRCMSC1MSC.1-Circ.1686.docx
