MEPC 79/15/Add.1Annex 13,page 1ANNEX 13RESOLUTION MEPC.368(79)AMENDMENTS TO THE 2014 STANDARD SPECIFICATION FORSHIPBOARD INCINERATORS(RESOLUTION MEPC.244(66))THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION COMMITTEE,RECALLING Article 38(a)of the Convention on the International Maritime Organizationconcerning the function of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (the Committee)conferred upon it by international conventions for the prevention and control of marine pollutionfrom ships,RECALLING ALSO that,at its fortieth session,the Committee adopted,byresolution MEPC.76(40),the Standard specification for shipboard incinerators,in respect ofregulation 16.6.1 and appendix IV to MARPOL Annex VI,NOTING that,at its forty-fifth session,the Committee adopted,by resolution MEPC.93(45),Amendments to the standard specification for shipboard incinerators,NOTING ALSO that,at its sixty-fourth session,the Committee decided that incinerators with acapacity greater than 1,500 kW and up to 4,000 kW could be type-approved under the existingstandard specification for shipboard incinerators,NOTING FURTHER that,at its sixty-sixth session,the Committee adopted,by resolutionMEPC.244(66),the 2014 Standard specification for shipboard incinerators,which supersededthe Standard specification for shipboard incinerators adopted by resolution MEPC.76(40),asamended by resolution MEPC.93(45),RECOGNIZING the need to remove the discrepancies between resolution MEPC.244(66)andSOLAS chapter ll-2 on fire protection requirements for incinerators and waste stowage spaces,1.ADOPTS the Amendments to the 2014 Standard specification for shipboardincinerators (resolution MEPC.244(66)),as set out in the annex to the present resolution;2.INVITES the Parties to MARPOL Annex VI and other Member Governments to bringthe above amendments to the attention of all Parties concerned.I:MEPC79MEPC 79-15-Add.1.docx
