CCSTechnical Information(2017)Technical Information No.31 Total No.279Jun.12,2017(Total 3 pages)To:Relevant departments of the Headquarters of CCS,the Society's surveyors,PlanApproval Centers,related shipowners,ship management companies,shipyards anddesignersNotice on Implementation of Unified Interpretation of the IBC Code(MSC-MEPC.5 Circ.11)The Maritime Safety Committee under IMO,at its ninety-sixth session(11 to 20 May2016),and the Marine Environment Protection Committee under IMO,at itsseventieth session(24 to 28 October 2016),approved the Unified Interpretation ofRegulation 2.9,Chapter 2 of IBC Code by MSC-MEPC.5/Circ.11.For the preparation ofits implementation,the Chinese and English versions of this Circular are herebyforwarded and relevant parties are invited to refer to this Circular for implementationand pay attention to the following key points:In stability checking,ventilators that for operational reasons have to remain open tosupply air to the engine room or emergency generator room should be considered asflooding points.This Notice is made public on CCS website (www.ccs.org.cn),and is to be distributedto relevant shipyards,shipowners and ship designers by CCS survey units and planapproval centers within their responsible areas.Please contact Technical Management Department of CCS by rt@ccs.org.cn for anyinquiry in the implementation.Annex:MSC-MEPC.5/Circ.11,Unified Interpretation of the IBC Code (Chinese andEnglish versions)
