CCSTechnical Information(2016)Technical Information No.43 Total No.245Dec.19,2016(Total 1 page)To:Relevant departments of CCS Headquarters,CCS plan approval centers,Branches/Offices,related shipyards,equipment manufacturers,ship owners and ship management companiesNotice on the postponed effective date of the guidance for thevalidity of radiocommunication equipment installed and used onships(MSC.1-Circ.1460)The Technical Information (2014)No.23 Total No.145 "Notice on the guidance forthe validity of radiocommunication equipment installed and used on ships(MSC.1/Circ.1460)"was issued by CCS.The Marine Safety Committee of IMO,at itsninety-seven session held in London(21 to 24 November 2016),adopted theamendments to MSC.1/Circ.1460,agreeing that the implementation date of HFradiocommunication equipment capable of operating narrow-band direct printing(NBDP)to be updated is postponed till 1 January 2024 on which the channellingarrangements reflected in sections ll and Ill of part B in appendix 17 of the RadioRegulations should be met and which is also the date of future SOLAS IV revisionentering into force.Ship owners,operators,product manufacturers and other relevant departments aresuggested to pay attention to this information and arrange the upgrade of NBDP inadvance.When the formal MSC.1/Circ.1460 amendments are released by IMO,the notice willbe informed to relevant departments by CCS in time.It is hereby notified.The Notice is made public on CCS website (www.ccs.org.cn),and be transmitted tothe relevant shipyards,equipment manufacturers,ship owners and shipmanagement companies by the branches/plan approval centers of CCS within theirresponsible area.Please contact CCS Ship Business Operation Dept.of the Headquarters (so @ccs.org.cn)in caseof any unclarity during the implementation of this Technical Information.
