CCSTechnical Information(2017)Technical Information No.58 Total No.306Jul.31,2017(Total 2 pages)To:relevant departments of CCS Headquarters,CCS surveyors,plan approval centers,relevantship owners,shipyards and designersTechnical Notice on Amendments to the International Code for FireSafety Systems(FSS Code)(MSC.410(97))issued by IMOI.Foreword1 The Maritime Safety Committee of International Maritime Organization,at itsninety-seventh session,adopted the Amendments to the International Code for FireSafety Systems(FSS Code)(resolution MSC.410(97))relating to the requirements ofarrangement of distribution of persons required by calculation of the width of escapemeans on passenger ships on November 21,2016.The amendments will enter intoforce on January 1,2020.Il.Technical points2.1 The main contents of resolution MSC.410(97)In Case 2 in 2.1.2.2.2.1 of Chapter 13 of the revised FSS Code,"members of the crewin public spaces occupied to 13 of the maximum capacity"is amended to be"13 ofthe crew distributed in public spaces".Requirement of implementation:passenger ships constructed on and after January 1,2020 shall meet the above requirements.Annex Amendments to the International Code for Fire Safety Systems(FSS Code)MSC.410(97))(both in the original English version and Chinese version)
